Inspiration: The Plant Connection

It has been well-documented that plants, because they are conscious and can possibly sense their surroundings more acutely than humans, can grow stronger and live longer in a happy home versus a stressful environment. They measurably shrink to obtrusively loud sounds yet are positively stimulated by the vibrations of calm music or laughter. They can even sway to joyful, rhythmic beats. And like a cat, plants follow the sun, basking in its warmth and restorative properties.

Just as plants react to humans and human actions, we are equally as affected by them. Our shoulders lower and our heartbeats slow the second we step out of the car and onto a green embossed path. And with every soul-cleansing step, our serotonin levels rise resulting in clearer thoughts and wider smiles.

Additionally, people become more open-minded and creative when amidst any kind of Nature. There are even reports of heightened psychic ability. It is believed these effects are related to the brain’s limbic system which regulates memory and emotions.

In her book, The ESP Enigma: The Scientific Case for Psychic Phenomena, author and neuropsychiatrist Diana Hennacy Powell, uses science to explain that the limbic-lifts are not necessarily due to an increased sensitivity occurring in that particular part of the brain, but rather a “damping” of another part of the brain, namely the cortex. The cortex enables executive decision making and conscious awareness. Powell explains that when we can turn down the “noise” from various distractions like work or traffic, we are essentially damping the “cortex relative to the activity in the limbic system.”

This is the same science behind meditation and prayer. As we slow our breath and quiet our minds, our Higher Self or consciousness can become more prominently perceived, similarly to hearing the voice of God when praying or in a constant state of communion.

Simply put, it’s not necessarily turning up the radio to hear your favorite song (or intuitive knowing), it’s more like turning down the television to better hear the radio.

For many reasons, therefore, humans need Nature. Not just to provide food and soothe nerves - and to more easily hear those arising inner messages - but also because we thrive on the conscious connection between ourselves and all of life. And when we tap into the energetic field of consciousness of which Nature is a very big part, we are essentially engaging with the life force itself. Because it all connects.

The Field

Consciousness, remember, is the field or web that connects all energies and the information embedded within those energies. It is how we know a friend needs us before they even have the chance to call, or how we recognize someone we have only just met. This is possible because consciousness permeates space and time.

Think of a radio frequency that transmits a tune across many miles and through many walls. We just need to tune in to hear each note and sway like a philodendron.

Due to the fact that our most natural state is to be consciously entwined to that undeniable force that resonates throughout all that exists, consciousness, we can look to Nature as a kind of meeting place for various energies to connect, ideas to merge, and motivation to be found.

This is applying a philosophical usage to Nature, for within Creation is much wisdom. Perhaps in this time of AI ‘employees’ and blockchain technologies, as well as the pending disclosure of UAP and NHI, it would be beneficial to sync to life’s wisdom by syncing to our most trustworthy global partner: Nature.

Mimicking Nature

Biomimicry is the practice of using Nature as the inspiration for production and technology. For example, developers may look to whale teeth to architect a more capable water filtration unit, or to fish scales to help create solar panels.

But Nature provides far more than design tips, clean oxygen, and heart-coherent moments. It also gives us a life-affirming intelligence that, when heeded, can help us live through conscious intent and guide us to the same kind of effortless joy that a plant by the window experiences daily.

There are five key philosophical tenets nestled throughout Earth’s biosphere and the universal cosmos. The first tenet, inspiration, touches upon every aspect of life from evolution and adaption to consciousness and spirituality. It is also what gets us out of bed and into momentum, which is why it is the first tenet.

Tenet 1: Inspiration

To inspire and to be inspired encapsulates our most basic essence. Because inspiration is the catalyst for everything. It is the origin of humankind and the prompt behind each creative expression.

Once upon a time, a fish was evolutionarily inspired to find food upon the land, so it eventually sprouted legs and became something new. For millions of years, ants have been inspired by efficiency, inducing them to find simple alternatives to complex problems. And every second of every day, a bud blossoms to the warmth of the morning sun.

These are examples of life’s wise choices spurred by inspired realizations. And while non-sentient life forms may not actually feel the pulse and pull of inspiration, we humans can most certainly be inspired by these choices and apply them philosophically to our own methods and mayhem.

When we find ourselves in need, perhaps it is us who need to grow a new pair of legs, new solutions, or new belief systems. Perhaps it is us who will find success by focusing on the obvious to lessen the complexity. And perhaps we can end the coldest of phases by stretching our arms to the warm possibilities built into each new day. Either way, inspiration is a philosophical principle that Nature readily embodies, and we would do well to do the same.

To Live Inspired

An inspired human fearlessly welcomes enlightenment and graciously pays it forward. They read what fills their soul and choose to see the bright side. And they offer a hand as quickly as they extend a compliment, because to give inspiration is more powerful than to receive it.

Inspiration is how Nature beckons us to reconnect to our innermost selves while encouraging others to do the same. It does so by speaking simultaneously to our physical five senses and to our conscious and subconscious perceptions as it nudges us to reengage with the center of consciousness itself, the heart. So, essentially, inspiration is a kind of spiritual playbook or bio-Bible, per se, that both teaches and leads.

There are countless ways to live an inspired life as we aim to mimic Nature’s own patterns and practices. We can dampen the loud to better hear the joy. Or follow the light to establish our own direction - or as an example to help others find theirs. Inspiration can be found by grounding and result in growth. And no matter how dark the days, we can hibernate within the trust that soon a new dawn will appear and we will emerge.

The Parts and the Whole

Because every human body, every plant body, and every celestial body is a working system built from multiple interacting systems, we can view the whole of life to be the same: a universal oneness connected by a shared consciousness and fueled by inspiration. For this reason, our every inspired moment, and every moment of inspiration we share, is felt throughout the whole of Nature.

So, as you seek to find whatever it is that will bring you to your next step or next evolution, and as you bring others with you into their new realizations and opportunities, you are robustly reigniting all that is with who you are. There’s nothing more powerful than that. -LPS
